From a life of searching to learning to trust myself.
I was born in Croatia, back when it was part of Yugoslavia. The war started when I was 14 and ended when I was 18. At 19, I went into the army.
Growing up in a country torn apart by war and its aftermath was no fairytale.
I was lost. I was interested in psychology and spirituality even back then, but I ignored that inner voice. I wanted to succeed quickly, so I chased money and opportunities, thinking they would bring me happiness.
I spent years doing things I didn’t really enjoy, then spending what I earned trying to feel better. Eventually, I moved to Melbourne, Australia, looking for a different life.
Some things improved, but I was still struggling with anxiety and feeling lost. I’d gone from a place where opportunities felt limited to a place where there seemed to be too many of them. I was overwhelmed, distracted, and constantly searching.
I got into coaching, collected certifications, moved into marketing, and kept looking for the thing that would finally make everything click.
Seven coaching certifications. Two energy-healing certifications. Countless marketing trainings.
Yet I was still chasing opportunities and wondering why I wasn’t fulfilled.
Eventually, I returned to what had interested me all along: psychology. I went deeper into personal development, spirituality, and inner work, and I completed and facilitated more than 100 plant medicine ceremonies along the way.
I was searching for my true path.
And then I realised something that changed the direction of my life:
I needed to stop searching outside myself and start listening to my own intuition.
Today, I live in Ibiza, Spain. I’m happier and more fulfilled, and I understand how much of my life I spent worrying, overthinking, chasing bright, shiny objects, and dreaming about a life I wasn’t actually creating.
I paid a hefty price for not listening to myself: in stress, time, and money. I’ve invested around $140,000 in education.
Over more than 15 years in personal development, and after more than 3,000 one-to-one coaching sessions, I’ve helped people work through shame, guilt, past trauma, addiction, and some of the darkest periods of their lives.
And I began asking myself a question:
What if people could learn to make decisions from a place of calm and self-trust before they reached the point of regret, shame, or despair?
What if, instead of only helping people recover after things went wrong, we could help them build a stronger foundation in the first place?
That question helped shape The Calm.
Because after everything I’ve studied, experienced, and taught, one thing stands out to me:
One of the most important things you can learn is to trust your own judgement.
And that’s what The Calm is about — learning to reconnect with your intuition and make decisions from a place of calm and confidence.
